Education Philosophy

Theodosia is an avid guest lecturer at UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, USC Thornton School of Music, and Oberlin Conservatory, where she gives master classes for the USC Oboe Studio, the UCLA Oboe Studio, UCLA Orchestras, and Oberlin Oboe Studio on the topics of Improvisation, Vocology for Oboists, New Music for Oboe, and Career Advising. Theodosia has also given guest lectures for various courses in USC Musicology, Oberlin TIMARA, Oberlin Philosophies of Improvisation and workshoped original pieces with Oberlin Performance and Improvisation Ensembles. Theodosia also teaches private lessons in oboe, voice, composition, piano, and improvisation. Her background in comparative literature, neuroscience, and experimental music give her a unique approach to the science and art of learning. Theodosia teaches each student according to their learning style and personality; she is passionate about empowering students to be self-sufficient artists and creative thinkers.
